Volunteer Positions
CLOTHING LAUNDERERS
- Must be willing to transport and use your own machines, laundering supplies and instructions will be provided
- Minimum 1 week turnaround time on loads required
- You may take as much or as little as you are able
CLOTHING ALTERATION SPECIALIST
- Someone available to attend shopping sessions or appointments when available to mark/take clothes purchased for alterations needed for proper fit
- Must be willing to work with Personal Shopping Assistant and Gender Expression Tools Specialist and Clothing Menders
PERSONAL SHOPPING ASSISTANTS
- Masculine, feminine and non binary identified individuals are all needed for this position 4 times per month and some who are willing to be available in an on call capacity for private shopping sessions outside normal business hours (Friday’s 6-10pm)
- Must be interested in fashion and enjoy clothing shopping
- Must be willing to work with a Gender Expression Tool Specialist for proper fit
GENDER EXPRESSION TOOL SPECIALIST
- Do you stay up to date on ALL the current gender expression tools, reviews and blogs?
- Do you research all new items to see what is worth giving a try?
- Do you love talking gender expression tool shop?
- If you answered yes to all the above and would like to share your knowledge with fellow community members then this position was made for you!
GENERAL LABORERS
- These will be ongoing positions available frequently- a.m. & p.m., 7 days wk
- Anyone willing to offer their time in conjunction with the use of their truck and/or trailer is greatly appreciated
RESALE ITEM CLEANERS/REFURBISHERS
- Must be able to work with household cleaners (glass cleaner, alcohol, adhesive remover etc. )
- Must enjoy re-purposing and refurbishing
- Mechanical or carpentry skills are a plus but not required
RESALE ITEM MOVERS/HAULERS
- Tired of paying for a gym membership?
- Want a workout that makes you feel good inside AND out?
- Many hands make light work and we have light duty and heavy lifting available
- ALL physical capabilities welcome
RESOURCE LINE MONITORS
- The resource line is our 24/7 transgender resource guide and friendly ear that is operated on a google telephone number via an app that can be installed on your personal cell
- Transgender and SOFFA volunteers are needed to help answer incoming texts and calls to connect folks with the resources they are seeking via our resource databases
- We are not a suicide hotline and do not advertise as such. We refer folks to the trans lifeline immediately upon recognizing this need. We DO offer a friendly ear for anyone that would like to just chat with another person in the community for peer support
RIDE ASSISTANTS
- Transportation can be a huge road block for those just starting out or starting over
- If you would like to make yourself available to assist persons with this need, please forward your availability, distance you’re able to to cover and what you would require (gas/mileage reimbursement and in what form if any required)
